Marine activities

Book snorkeling, diving or a boat trip with an established operator. Visibility, waves and tours depend on weather and ocean conditions.

Beach and reef safety

Wear suitable water shoes, avoid standing on living reef and follow local guidance. Do not enter unfamiliar rocky areas during strong surf.

Getting there

A car or pre-arranged transfer provides the easiest access. Public transport may require a connection through Sonsonate or Acajutla; reconfirm locally.

Responsible visit

Choose operators that protect wildlife, avoid touching coral and take all waste with you. Whale sightings are seasonal and never guaranteed.

Nearby experiences

Acajutla, Barra de Santiago, Salinitas, Sonsonate and Ruta de las Flores.
